Diana Laurence explores the intersection of sex and science fiction in her newest collection of "erotica with soul." The three novellas in this anthology feature aliens, other worlds, and strange visions of the future, as another trio of couples explore romance in settings that stretch the boundaries of the imagination.

"Alloy Love"
In the near future, Earth has suffered a world-wide venereal plague that has resulted in the eradication of romance and sex between humans. Instead, mind-bogglingly pleasurable sex machines are the order of the day, such as the AddamsTech 5 that belongs to Helen Cameron. Helen also works in AddamsTech's marketing department, all the more reason why she would be the last person on earth to be tempted away from her machine. But then Helen's acquaintance with commercial videographic genius Sadhil Narayan turns her world upside down.

"Claude's Laboratory"
The year is 1871, and Jane Howard wakes up expecting to celebrate her 24th birthday at her home in Yorkshire. Instead she finds herself the captor of a handsome young scientist named Claude, who quickly proves they are further from Yorkshire than Jane could ever dream. The alien researcher has chosen her as his subject for some "harmless" experiments in human sexuality. Considering her circumstances, Jane is shocked to find cooperating with science can be a surprisingly rewarding experience.

"Spacewrecked with Joel Fennimore"
Successful author Evie Perkins gets a gig documenting the life of renowned intergalactic survivalist Joel Fennimore, on whom she's had a crush for several years. The biographical assignment involves observing his work on a new film set on the distant planet Eknis. The project is intimidating enough; but then disaster strikes, and Joel and Evie must survive both the natural dangers of this strange world, and its supernatural effects upon their minds--and libidos.

REVIEWS FOR SOULFUL SEX: THE SCIENCE FICTION COLLECTION:

FIVE HEARTS from Linda L. , The Romance Studio

Soulful Sex: The Science Fiction Collection are three tales that hold the reader spellbound...There is romance and desire that blossoms with a passion hard to release. I loved the story of Helen...I found it a beautiful tale and simply fell in love with her. The other two stories are good as well. Diana Laurence creates three stories in the science fiction world that explore many possibilities. She weaves some joy along the way that gives the mind some thought while stretching the imagination...

83 from Mrs. Giggles

Diana Laurence writes what she calls "soulful sex" stories, which to me are love stories with explicit sex scenes with the author going the extra mile to emphasis the romance as well as the sex in these stories. I, being a romance reader, naturally think this is a great concept...The first story tilts this collection towards above average territory because I really love the story, due to the way Ms. Laurence sensitively portrays the emotional as well as sexual awakening in Helen in such a manner that captures all those beautiful moments of falling in love. This story works very well because it is not sappy or sentimental. Instead, Ms. Laurence trusts me enough to just tell the story and letting me get what she is trying to say in her story instead of beating me in the head with anvils. There is sex in this story, but ultimately it's a love story. Helen is a very well-written character and the author lets me inside Helen's head enough that when Helen finally falls in love, I'm right there with her...Diana Laurence has something good going with her Soulful Sex concept and I hope she will never stop doing what she is doing.
