Just what is "erotica with soul"?

While erotic romance is not all I write, I originally made my name in romance fiction writing what I termed "erotica with soul." This "Soul" section is where I justify, explain, glorify, and proclaim that unique genre of fiction. Why should you care? Because I think if you read the Q&A below, your experience of reading erotic romance will be enhanced. Besides, I'd just like you to know why I've been writing in this genre, privately or publically, for over 35 years.

My inspiration is long term, but only in my 30s did I discover a man who explained to me so much of why I do what I do. Joining us for this discussion is the amazing writer Thomas Moore, author of the inspirational book The Soul of Sex. This book was on a broader subject than I address here, but speaks far more eloquently than I to the questions we will address below. I recommend it enthusiastically: click HERE to buy your own copy from Amazon.

So, on to the questions…

Isn't there enough sex in the media already? Why write erotic romance fiction?

Thomas says   I say
Why do you claim sex has "soul" and is in part a spiritual phenomenon?
   Thomas says   I say
Do you feel it's acceptable to write anything in your stories, no holds barred?
   Thomas says   I say
Why is the erotic such a serious matter to you?

Thomas says   I say
You talk about it almost like religion, is that how you feel?

Thomas says   I say
So this spiritual act, how exactly does it work?

Thomas says   I say
So you really bring the subject of erotica around to the topic of God?
