Bloodchained is a vampire romance novel released in September 2007 by award-winning author Diana Laurence, creator of the Soulful Sex romance anthologies. But Bloodchained is no ordinary novel...it’s the product of the unique “Soulful Sex: Partners” Project, in which the author teamed up with a group of readers to create the first work of romantic fiction ever produced as a team effort. Bloodchained is the story of Grace Gilder and her brother Sebastian, who run an elegant inn in the city of Audacacia, home of the famous Temple of Love. Their inn hosts pilgrims journeying to petition the power of the Temple to intervene in matters of the heart. It’s also the tale of Finn Equain, an enigmatic gentleman who harbors a secret and unhealthy obsession with the Roicans, the legendary race of blooddrinking immortals. By the time Grace and Finn’s paths cross, powers beyond their control are at play. Figuring into their fates are two more mysterious characters: the delightfully charming Liam and his shy but ravishing sister Nessa. The fates of these five will be decided by the ultimate conflict between supernatural powers of lust and loyalty, desire and devotion. Meet the Roicans Roicans are a completely new twist on vampires: forget what you know about crosses, garlic, sunlight, and bats. Blood sustains Roicans, but only special blood. They are indestructible and have only one weakness: their dependence on their mates. There are as many good, moral Roicans as there are evil, depraved ones...but you can’t always tell which is which. They have select supernatural powers, including the ability to heal themselves and others, and the ability to control the will of mortals and weaker Roicans. Theirs is a rich and ancient culture, shrouded in secret, and their origins will surprise you. You’ll hate them, you’ll love them…you’ll pity them and you’ll envy them. And occasionally, you’ll wish you yourself could become a Roican--by the bite of the right Master! BUY

REVIEWS FOR BLOODCHAINED: 5 HEARTS from Sandra, The Romance Studio I loved this story. It truly has it all. I went into this one thinking it had been built up to the point it couldn't possibly live up to everything I had read about it. Well, I was wrong, it surpassed my expectations and has become one of my favorite stories. Ms. Laurence has created a world of such beauty, laughter, love, betrayal and yes lust, it completely swept me away. Her characters have a life of their own. Finn and Grace are the perfect heroine and hero in their own imperfect way. I did not want this story to end but found that it couldn't have had a better ending. I would recommend this one to anyone who enjoys a great story.
5 ANGELS from Linda L, Fallen Angel Reviews Bloodchained is like no other book...the talented Diana Laurence...crafts a tale that comes together brilliantly. Paranormal and historical romances are two of my favorite genres, and the way this story revolves around both genres is pure delight. The characters’ emotions are remarkable. There are moments for laughter, and sometimes for a few tears, as Grace, Sebastian, and Finn, along with the other characters, exhibit wide range of emotions through love, disloyalty and deliverance that engages the reader at every turn of the page in this unique read. 5 STARS from Wanda Maynard, Sime~Gen This carefully plotted novel by Diana Laurence was such a treat to read! Not many books are able to capture me completely the way this wonderful book did. Each chapter of Bloodchained made this reader hungry for more…a superb love story that touched my heart. I highly recommend this phenomenal read! 4 1/2 BLUE RIBBONS from Robin Snodgrass, Romance Junkies This unusual approach to novel writing has produced a story that will thrill paranormal and historical romance lovers alike...the blending of these genres is definitely a winning combination. The romances, and there are more than one in this novel, are at times sweet and at other times extremely intense. Laurence has imbued her characters with traits that range from one extreme to the other, from honor to depravity. I cried at heartbreaking moments in the story. At other moments, I laughed at the quick wit exhibited by several of the characters. Through it all, I enjoyed this story of love and passion, betrayal and redemption. Grab a copy of this superb book and experience the world of the Roicans for yourself.
PRAISE from LeeAnn, Coffee Time Romance The story of Bloodchained has a fresh and unique twist to the whole vampire genre of romance stories. The five main characters in this story are all well written and so unlike each other that you really find their interaction with each other at times moving, and at times amusing. This is a nice story to read on lonely nights when you are in the mood for romance mixed with a little suspense. From Amazon UK, Karolina Davidsson: 5 stars - "If you are looking for well written characters in a compelling story this is a lovely choice. I fell in love with the characters at once and just had to know what happened to them.I turned page after page and didn't want to put it down. I cried when they had trouble and laughed at the jokes." From Powells Books, Nevea Lane: 5 stars - "I dearly enjoyed this book. The characters are engaging and intelligent. The heroine, Grace, is headstrong, confident, but still realizes that she is a woman in every sense. Her brother Sebastian is light-hearted, caring and a compassionate being. He reminds me much of the Tin-man in the Wizard of Oz. Then there is the deep and brooding Finn Equian. He is morose, but thoughtful. The story moves at a rapid pace, and you are constantly turning the pages to figure out how five strangers react to each other once they learn each's others stories. While the characters are complex, the story line is easy to follow. It is a page turner because you are engaged with the characters and their plight. The love that blossoms between the hero and the heroine is heart-wrenching because it seems impossible sometimes. My only gripe is that I wish there was more of it to read." From Amazon, Paige E. Follmer (Montana, USA): 5 stars - "This book is amazing. I loved the tale of the Roicans, it was non-stop love and mystery. The characters were great, the story was great, I loved every moment of it. You have to buy this book, I don't want to give away any of the story, so I'm not sure how to describe it. But it is different in every way from any paranormal romance I have ever read. It differs from any book I have ever read actually. You will find yourself in love with it though, I promise you."" From Amazon, Nicolé Christophe (Germany): 5 stars - "Great book, I read it in one day, and was sad when it end. Just bought another copy as a Christmas present." From Con Pappalardo: "I marvel at your technique, the same as I would marvel at a perfectively rendered drawing. You know your craft and that is pretty awesome. Hats off to you. All this praise is an aside from your imagination and creativity, which is so obvious. I mean, the vampire story has been told and retold countless times but to reinvent it through the story of the Roicans, gives it a new texture and turns the tables on the whole ' poor vampire... can't help himself!' scenario." From Amazon, R. LeNormand (South Wales, UK): "Well, she did it again! Each time I read one of Diana Laurence's books I find it hard to put down. This one was even better. It has Diana's trademark polish, with all her technical excellence. Having said that, the story is truely enthralling. I found myself almost believing that Vampires could exist. I loved all the characters, even the 'not so nice' ones! But, seriously, the story flows beautifully and makes you want to know what happens next. You get to feel all the emotions the characters are portraying. You can understand why they feel that way. All in all, a great read I would recommend Bloodchained to anyone. Diana calls it 'Romantic Erotica' well I call it Beautiful Erotica. I can't wait for the next one."
