About the story: Pasha is a member of an order of priestesses completely isolated from males, and she is suffering from a debilitating emotional ailment known as the Yearning. The order, seeking a cure, summons Knight-Ambassador Tristan to meet with her. In this scene, the two get to know each other... About the collaboration: When Diana Laurence blogged about her love of comics, fan CC Rogers rose to the occasion. She volunteered to create a two-page graphic-novel-style excerpt from one of Diana's stories. The two quickly upon a passage from "As Commonplace as Rain" that would be perfect for this medium. Over the course of ten days in August 2008, CC created the spread with input from Diana on the appearance of the characters, their costumes, the storyboard layout, and issues of design. It was CC's first effort at creating a comic, and the result is, in Diana's opinion, "Fantastic--and for me nothing short of a dream come true!" This graphic excerpt gives readers a deeper sense of the characters, mood, and "feel" of the tale, capturing beautifully the innocent sensuality of this award-winning story. And as far as the author is aware, it is the first instance of a promotional romance book excerpt being offered to readers in this format.
